As Assistant Summer Camp Director, Christine helps design, plan, hire, teach, and evaluate the Summer Camp Programs for ages 4-17 on the farm. Throughout the school year, she helps plan and teach the Adventures Preschool Program for ages 3-5. Christine also gets involved with many of the weekend Family Programs, such as Play Dates, Maple Open House, and Harvest Festival.
Christine grew up in MA before attending UVM and gaining a degree in Elementary Education with a focus in Environmental Studies. After interning, completing an apprenticeship, and being seasonal for 2 summers, she became a full-time year round educator at the farm in 2003. She lives in Hinesburg, VT with her family. Teaching at Shelburne Farms allows Christine to share the joy and wonder of the working farm landscape and the natural world with children and families. She strives to nurture curiosity, build relationships, cook with farm-fresh food, and foster a connection between children and the natural world through discoveries, experiences, and play.
