Susie's work at the Farm brings together her passions for teaching, agriculture, and the environment. She works with the Farm-Based Education Network to offer professional development workshops for farmers and educators that convey the importance of connecting learners of all ages to their food and fiber systems. She develops and teaches family programs and special events, and oversees the Farm's largest public program: the Children's Farmyard. As a young person, she worked with and showed cows through 4-H, and today she coordinates the Shelburne Explorers 4-H club, which serves youth ages 8-18 who lease Brown Swiss calves from the Shelburne Farms herd. Susie graduated from UVM with a degree in Elementary Education and Environmental Studies. She lives in Charlotte with her family and enjoys being outdoors exploring, gardening and taking photos of anything amazing!
