While the fall colors are in full show here in Vermont, I'm heading to "The City of Eternal Spring" - Kunming, in Yunnan Province, China. I'll be sharing Education for Sustainability practices with students, teachers, and community members in this mountainous region of western China.

Why? The Middlebury College Sustainability Integration Office recently reached out to Shelburne Farms to partner on an environmental education initiative of Middlebury's International School of Kunming (MSK) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC).

Golden or snub-nosed monkeys
The project is preparing Middlebury students studying at MSK to use their Chinese language skills to help TNC develop school-based and community environmental education programming in Kunming. TNC is working to protect wetlands and forested habitat of the golden snub-nosed monkey. They're focusing on outreach to schools and rural communities to help in these efforts.

I'm excited to be bringing the Farm's expertise in Education for Sustainability to this corner of the world, and in support of this important project.
