Maple Sugaring 2020 – A Quiet Season

The end of March also marked the end of our productive, but quiet, 2020 sugaring season. As Shelburne Farm’s Carbon Drawdown Coordinator Marshall Webb (who is also a part of the sugaring team) explains, “When the sap turns a little sour, and the bubbles want to explode out of the pan, it's time to quit.” We had a good run, producing over 1,100 gallons of syrup from 2,500 taps across our sugarbush.

With increased cleaning protocols, we’re still at the Farm making our raw milk farmstead cheddar, bottling syrup, and our mail order team is shipping farm products both to homes and grocery stores on its regular schedule. We’d love to help you stock your pantry and refrigerator with Farm products. Locally, you can order Shelburne Farms products by sending in your order using our online form or by phone from 11AM-4PM daily (802-985-8442) for curbside pick up at our Welcome Center & Farm Store.
