Sue lives in Shelburne with her husband Dave Jonah (who also happens also to be co-manager of the Welcome Center & Farm Store) and their two children, Will and Kim. Prior to working at the Farm, Sue was membership coordinator at the Vermont Land Trust. She is passionate about education, land conversation and environmental sustainability in Vermont and around the globe. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professional and serves on the board of All Souls Interfaith Gathering in Shelburne. Sue enjoys gardening, cooking, writing and travel. She and her husband share a deep adventurous streak. Before kids, Sue and Dave spent two years traveling by bicycle around the world (peddling 18,000 miles through 32 countries) and in 2008/2009 they took a “sabbatical” year and home-schooled their children while traveling in an old VW van from Vermont to Alaska to Mexico and back again. Sue was first introduced to Shelburne Farms in the early 1980’s when, as an environmental education student, she did an internship at the Farm. Ever since, she has been passionate about advancing the mission and work of this special place.
